TechnoEden

So I’m working on this theory.

I think that one of the reasons we love our tech devices so much is because they make us feel in control. We’re little gods with them in our hands – able to access the past, change the present, and affect the future. They put us in a pseudo digital Garden of Eden where everything just seems to work perfectly.

And then…

Virus. Hardware malfunction. Broken screen. The site is down. The signal drops. The battery is dead. You’ve got your story.

Suddenly our little paradise falls apart and we’re IRATE. We did pay good money for this thing, after all. We expect better. And we need it to work NOW.

I’m not anti-tech, and there are legitimate frustrations when things don’t perform as promised.

I just wonder if mankind’s endless search to get back to Eden sometimes looks like a handheld device.
