Act Now

I’ve been mediating on a powerful truth lately:

There is never a convenient time to do an inconvenient thing.

Ecclesiastes 11:4 says, “Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.”

Waiting until everything feels perfect before taking action is usually a setup for inaction. Conditions are rarely *perfect*, only “more ideal” or “less ideal”.

When the task before us is unpleasant, uncomfortable, or inconvenient, it can be tempting to put it off until later. But that’s not the way. Because if we’re ever going to get anything difficult done, it’s going to be difficult. Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet.

Imagine what your life would look like if you stopped waiting for a convenient time to act and just started acting in the midst of the inconvenience. You might think it would ADD stress to your life, but it actually DECREASES it, because the thing is no longer hanging over your head.

Some people have this down already and they’re like, “Well, duh.” (Okay, no one says “duh” anymore) But for others like me who can be slower to get there, it’s radical.

What are you putting off for a “convenient time”? What if you just did it now?
