Finishing Well

Finishing well is hard, in part, because of our very human tendency to take our foot off the gas as we near the finish line.

We ease up when we should be pressing in. We pat ourselves on the back for a job well done before the job is, well…done.

It’s tempting to think of finishing well in terms of a life (“One day I hope to finish well!”), but it also applies to seasons, assignments, projects, goals, relationships, and putting our head on the pillow each night.

In that sense, finishing well is something that we either do or don’t do every day. It’s not “out there” as much as “right here.”

Where are you tempted to let up when you should be leaning in?
