The Value of NOT Thinking About It

I’ve been in the market for a new computer lately. There are a LOT of options out there, and trying to find the right fit at the right price was beginning to feel a bit overwhelming.

So I stopped thinking about it. Not reactively or irresponsibly, but prayerfully.  I just took a mental break from it for a few days. And you know what? It was SO GOOD.

The world didn’t end. If anything, I only got more clarity about the decision because when I returned I wasn’t as emotionally involved.

There can be value in setting a decision aside for awhile. It takes discipline to NOT think about something that’s important to you, but the payoff can be worth it.

If you find yourself getting too wrapped up in a choice, consider stepping away from it for a bit and then returning later with fresh eyes. It might be just the thing you need to make a clear call.
