Keep Your Guard Up

I watched Battle of the Bulge for the first time last week. It did a good job of portraying how the Allies let their guard down before Germany was fully defeated. American soldiers were already celebrating and talking about going home. Meanwhile, Hitler was preparing one of his greatest offenses. The attack resulted in 89,000 American casualties and became the bloodiest battle of the war.

The Bible tells us,

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

Satan may be down, but he’s not out. He may be doomed to destruction, but he still has a degree of power and influence in the world. Like Hitler and his henchmen, he’ll take out as many of his enemies as possible – including you.

Keep your guard up; the devil doesn’t take a day off.
