Personal Speed Bumps


Earlier this year I was struggling with eating well.

I prayed about it, and felt the Lord leading me towards a tracking app. So I looked around and found TwoGrand.

It’s been so helpful.

Instead of calorie counting, you just take a picture of everything you eat. Social and personal accountability are baked right in. You can also track your weight, log your water intake, and review your day.

Now my wife and I are the crazy people taking pictures of our food all the time. But it works.

Here’s why:

TwoGrand is a bit like a personal speed bump. When I want to go too fast (eat mindlessly, overeat, stress eat, etc.) it slows me down. I have to consciously pause and think, “Do I really want to take a picture of this?” It’s such a little thing, but it goes a long way.

I don’t know what you’re struggling with right now. Maybe it’s your attitude. Maybe it’s your words. Maybe it’s your spending, or your time usage, or your exercise. Whatever it is, perhaps you need a personal speed bump – some small habit or discipline you apply with the behavior that helps you reign in the behavior. Why not give it a shot and see what happens?
