I love the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000. It’s an encouraging reminder that God isn’t bound by our limitations.
We live in a world full of so many needs and so much pain. War. Poverty. Sickness. Crime. Starvation. Corruption. Slavery. Torture. The list goes on. It’s too much for any one of us to do much about on our own.
But Jesus isn’t overwhelmed by all this. He simply turns to us and says, “Give me your loaves and fish and let’s get to work.”
This? It’s so meager. It’s not enough. It’s laughable. Yes. But when we offer it up to God he multiplies it and makes it enough. Incredible. This is the God we serve.
“It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God. He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life.” 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 NLT
So, what do you have to give?
