If you want to win the outer battles, you must first win the inner battles.
Or not. You could always fake it. Be one person in public, but another in private. Look like you’re succeeding but really be failing. Live with the paranoia that you’ll eventually be found out as a fraud. Double down on tactics, techniques, defensives, diversions. Drown the doubt with addictions. Forget who you really are. Become who they want you to be.
If you’re excelling on the outside but dying on the inside is it really worth it? You may feel like you have no other choice. But truth be told, you’re too ashamed, scared, or proud to face your inner demons. Scroll away now.
Jesus talked with a lot of people. Some were willing to be honest about their needs, others weren’t.
Real success is defined by receiving God’s grace, walking by faith, living in obedience and love, and bringing him glory. I’m convinced most of us don’t actually believe this, let alone live it. But those who do know my first line is true.
If God defines the win, then it starts within.
